Some really quick and general math on Level 2 chargers...

Level 2 chargers can put out anywhere from 3kW to 19kW per hour. For easy math, let's call it 10kWh (the middle would be 11kW), which comes out to ~23 miles recharge per hour.

The average person drives ~40 miles per day so we'll charge it for 2 hours per night. 20kWh. Times 30 nights in a month = 600kWh per month

So the average for a household with a level 2 charger should be ~600kWh per month. The average home uses ~893kWh per month.

So under-estimating it, the average household would increase their electricity consumption by 67% with a Level 2 charger.

Level 1 chargers:

Level 1 chargers can put out anywhere from 1.3 to 2.4 kW per hour. Let's split it down the middle and call it 1.8kW per hour. This comes out to ~40 miles of range in 8 hours (so right at the average miles driven per day). 8*1.8 = 15.01 kWh per day just to drive the average amount.

30 days of that type of charging = 450.3 kWh per month. So for increasing monthly electricity usage by ~50%, you effectively can't do anything other than your average drive. Ever.

So even with the most rudimentary math, it's an insane increase on power consumption.
