Almost…..SW can be affected if you do not reshaft as they were built. Tip weights will be removed in this process. Easy to heat the hosel and pull head…check, easy to clean and prep to reahaft….check, easy to get the same feel and performance without a SW scale and replacement tip weights….impossible.
If you have a set built to D2 SW( pretty standard) when rebuilt without the tip weights,, you may get a variance of C8 to D0 SW.
Still, this can be done at home or by any capable club builder.
I think this is what the guy at EW was probably referencing.
