Turning off the car isn’t as big of a deal as the inability to work on your own car.

You want to swap out the battery on your Tesla? You can’t. How about replace a screen? One of the electric motors? Nope. You can’t order any parts. Everything has to be done through Tesla and their service center. Computer systems in ICE cars can theoretically make this more difficult in those vehicles but currently you can do your own repairs on basically any GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda ICE vehicle. Parts for your drivetrain, interior, exterior body, etc. are all readily available through local auto parts stores and online retailers.
