A family member with a faulty heart valve made sure she stayed in the Reserve long enough for the associated insurance to cover she and her immediate family for the rest of her life. By the time the expensive valve replacements needed to be done, she didn't even pay deductibles. (Sadly I know this because the operations didn't work and we ended up as her estate representatives. I was impressed at how litter her last months ended up costing.)
