Great post.
The big question is how do we do it in a non violent way? It seems once money creeps into a lot of these politicians lives, they become part of the problem.

Theoretically: get involved in local politics and state politics. Make a push for a grassroots movement in your community. Do your best to educate people on the reasons for the checks and balances in government and the importance of limiting federal government powers. Beg people to stop voting for local and state politicians on federal party lines.
Try explaining it this way: what do the actual real local problems in Orleans parish have in common with the local problems in rural Iowa or Manhattan? Nothing. So why do the citizens of both counties vote for a politician based on which federal party he aligns with without knowing anything about his actual plans for the community he is elected to serve.
And remind people of that fact. Politicians are elected to serve. They are absolutely not elected to rule. They are public servants. With that in mind, challenge someone to name a politician you view as a servant instead of a ruler.
You can’t change the country. But you can absolutely change your community. And if more people realized this and dedicated themselves to it we might just stand a chance.
In reality: I doubt we can. The powers in DC and their lapdog propaganda machine have made it very clear that if you threaten their power they will destroy you and everyone you love and care about. And over half this country is giddy when they do it.
So do what I mentioned above. Create a tight knit community and do the best you can to peacefully change things for the better but prepare for the worst.
Do not ever be the one to start violence. But absolutely be prepared to defend yourself and your community.
