I’m curious about the new helmet padding that they’re wearing this year

Example at 10:18

I’m guessing it’s for shock absorption and tracking?

i really hope you think they're wearing that in the games.

but they've been doing that for a few years and it's exactly what you described.

Those have been around for quite some time now. It’s just to try and reduce head injuries.

They’re supposed to reduce concussions but studies have shown that they don’t work. Says a lot about the FSU program

They’re like Covid masks. They are for the appearance of safety. If they worked, why not wear them all the time or incorporate them into the helmets.

Guardian caps- the thinking of helmets contacting on every rep or most reps cause damage even though not big hits

I think you need a padded helmet.

The claim is a 33% reductions in head injuries, which were pretty low to begin with. An added benefit is with a reduction in QB hand injuries, where QBs bang their hands on a helmet following through on a throw. There's no downside to wearing them that I can find.
