Exposed nerve in a tooth. Toothache is an understatement.

I cracked a tooth exposing the nerve while down in South America. Didn't want local dentists anywhere near my mouth, so held on for a couple days till I got back stateside.

I don't know if the nerve was actually exposed for me, but I know what you went through. I chipped a tooth as a kid, no pain at the time and hardly noticeable. Years later in high school the tooth started to "die". I thought it would stop hurting eventually so I didn't want to bother anyone about it, but after a few days of feeling like a needle was stabbing my gums I had a root canal.

Toothache

I had a nerve go out in a tooth - horrible pain - nothing helped. I was awake for 2 days straight.
