I don't drink, so I can't answer the other question, but this is not going to come up. They are not going to in any way police who you are with.

And Jordan is amazing. Jerash is underrated for sure.

You will probably also visit at least one of the castles of the era of the Crusades -- maybe Ajloun, since it's convenient for Jerash, and I found both that one and Shobak Castle well worth the time. (I didn't make it to Kerak, but I've read some people say that it's the best.)

Your tour might also stop in Madaba to see the Byzantine-era mosaics, which I also enjoyed.

Are you going to the Dead Sea? I spent a night there, and it was nice to float in the water, but I wouldn't spent more time than that there.

Petra is stunning, but your enjoyment of it may depend on how crowded it is when you are there. It can get to be a bit of a zoo.
