Animals aren't complicated humans that suck. They're innocent, and then when you add that they become family it's hard not to understand it.

There are many humans i would gladly let die before my pets. Many.

I think it speaks to a positive part of human nature, however, that we would defend them more ardently than in centuries past.

When your animal kills another animal it is ok. If another animal harms your animal…not ok. Not all animals deserve respect I guess.

People are mistaking animals for families and human relationships. Just a bizarre time we are living in.

The people I have heard say things like this are the most socially awkward people I have ever met. They are not married and do not have kids frankly because they are so terrible at human relationships. So they try to duplicate this missing human love with having a pet and calling their pet their family when the truth is the pet would like anybody who feeds it.
