That's even more incentive to make sure they stay on the land, like Ron was saying.

I've never understood the concept of a bounty on wildlife. Why would someone want to wipe out a species if they can make money on it?

That's why people transport the beasts around--because they can sell hunts and make money off of them. Demonetize hogs. It should be illegal to profit off of them in any fashion that would cause someone to want to move them.

It's going to take attacks from all fronts to reduce the hog population to even a manageable level. I don't care how many people are killing with traps or hunting them. If you are killing 1000s of them a night, there are 100s of thousands out there. And they breed like rabbits.

It’s obvious you have put more thought into this than I do not doubt your grasp of the situation. I just figured having hunters go after them in a concerted effort would seriously deplete the numbers, and the only way to do that would be to reward them handsomely. Kinda like crawfishermen. I realize hogs reproduce far too rapidly to eliminate all of them. The gestation is too short and they start breeding too early.
I did not consider people wanting to conserve them for continuous income. I was thinking more of the greed and killing all they could. Even going out after work to see if they could knock off a few.
