If anything, the republican party has moved more left. More tolerant of same sex marriage, more tolerant of marijuana, etc.
But it's still not enough - the left still thinks we're extreme right terrorists. (and the biggest threat to american democracy BTW)

I think we have allowed our silence to be largely interpreted as tolerance.
I'm not tolerant of these alphabet freaks at all. Not gays, not homosexuals, just the blue-haired fatties posing for attention.
eta: I have gay family members who refuse to identify with these alphabet posers. Can't say I blame 'em.
