Bigger question is why the frick do you care? Knowing staring at a light thousands of years old, before it reaches us, is a retarded exercise.
There is nothing we can do about that light anyway. We could see a solar Tsunami heading towards earth, and there is ZERO we can ever do about it. Earth is where it is now, or we will cease to exist, period. We can't start her up and head to "dry land" to escape the Tsunami (example)
