Did you know that mental health

Is really a sign or indicator of spiritual health? The mentally ill would be more correctly labeled spiritually ill , because 99 times out of a hundred the root cause is spiritual. And yes, the problem could be a “physical imbalance of chemicals in the brain” or whatever they say, and yet still have a spiritual root cause. If people knew the mechanics of how the spiritual realm all around us reaches into and effects our physical realm their minds would be blown.
Anyways, blessings from the Most High God and His Son Jesus Christ

The frick? This kinda shite is why people get frustrated and angry with religion. I personally know of 2 people that served as a Marine and another just a grunt in the army. Apparently they saw some really messed up shite back in Iraq.
Both fairly spiritual, both have mental issues and probably PTSD.

Care to enlighten us, or at least point to a source or link? I prefer a video, because reading is hard.

Maybe. I’ll go with this

I don't think he is talking about this type of mental issue.

Yea but you’re definition and my
Definition of “spiritual” are probably not the same. But they could also fall into that 1% category I mentioned.

That’s a long rabbit hole. You really want to go down it though, we can

I’m a Christian, and this is horribly wrong. Many Christians fail to get proper treatment of mental health issues because of legalistic, pseudo-spiritual BS like this. “Pray harder” or “It’s a faith issue.” Horrible advice, and I hope whomever you give this to doesn’t listen.

I like the idea that God is like a radio tower and we are like radios. God sends out the radio signal, we receive that signal. Our physical health determines the how well we receive that signal. A crappy radio, produces a bad reception.

Brother… I promise you, if a believer is having mental health problems… the root cause is a spiritual attack… spiritual oppression from the enemy through his legion of demons. You are wrong

I know plenty of batshit crazy religious people as well as plenty of perfectly adjusted atheists.

There is a diff between possessing spirituality via the Holy Spirits in dwelling and being possessed with a religious spirit (which is demonic)

If you are talking about personality/character disorders - no question there is elbow room for a case to be made.
If we are talking psychosis and the typical major mental illnesses - ground beneath is real thin.
25 years in psych and 15 of those as a member of the clergy (still)
We are talking genetic loading and medication which can be of benefit - too much science to categorically dismiss as entirely spiritual
And, I am not always a fan/proponent of psych, our classifications of disorders and range of treatment options

Clergy? As in catholic? If that’s the case you were never truly spiritual (at least in a holy way)

Doesn't even begin to merit a response - enjoy your post

While I agree that antidepressants and antipsychotics are WILDLY over prescribed, and that most mental health issues should most certainly not be curbed with xanax... there are a good many people out there with weird genetics and brain wiring. We all know multiple examples of people we could list that we've met or know well. And while I appreciate and understand the angle of God/faith/religion being the only way to sort through this, it is mostly because I believe that the SELF can find utterly useful perspectives when it really wants to in order to defeat these proverbial demons.
I'm not religious, but I used to be deeply. In the end, it is up to oneself to cure what ails. We can give thanks to God for the opportunity to do such, but He is not (if He's out there) waving his magic wand for good obedience to fix your DNA and brain chemistry or whatever you wanna call it.
Whatever the case, a person has to decide on their own that they're done being defeated. God alone doesn't work otherwise. Similarly, medicines alone can not crutch a person's way through mental health issues. It forces them to give in and just hope meds are all they need.
Healing starts with a decision and proper perspective.

Too bad we just fired our lead exorcist in my church. The snakes started biting the apostates in our community after he was a bit too aggressive with them and took his role of Lead Inquisitor too seriously.
Hard to bring folks to church if they think they will get bit by a poisonous snake

What science are you referring to? The “science” that enslaves our youth by peddling them narcotics most of which cause lingering problems which were worse than the original issue. Turning people into zombies? The covid science ? What? Cuz it’s all guess work at best and political tools at worse
