There is a guy I work with who anytime he’s having to do a presentation he constantly says “like I say”. He’s completely oblivious to it. It’s like a nervous tick or maybe anxiety from public speaking. Some of us have started keeping count. For example, we were in a meeting yesterday where in a presentation that lasted less than 5 minutes he said “like I say” 33 times. Sometime. He’ll say it in clusters of 3 or even 4 in less than 10 seconds.
