If Saban wasn't at Bama LSU would replace them as the modern dynasty under Miles. That's an undeniable fact in his prime. He absolutely fell off and let the game pass him by but he was a way better CEO than Orgeron. He absolutely squandered talent but you can't deny in his prime Miles physicality attitude degraded mostly every team except Bama who could match us in athletes. Go back and evaluate every season. Miles was close to going to more NCs. The spoiler was always Bama. Those games always butchered our teams and they would fall off after the loss. Miles had an extremely impressive out of conference streak too that seems to get overlooked. It was the longest until we lost to Wisconsin when it was clear Miles needed to go.
Miles kept LSU competitive and even at his worst the last few seasons, it was nowhere near destroying a program like Orgeron did in record pace. BK has to nearly completely rebuild LSU where Orgeron actually inherited a talented team except in a few depth spots. Orgeron squandered talent much worse than Miles did. 2019 was the luckiest season ever no debate. Right before that season he gave LSU a historical loss in Troy and could not handle assistants so he had to promote from within due to his meddling. We were headed straight to what he did to Ole Miss. Luckily, we got the magical season THEN went straight to what he did to Ole Miss.
You can hate on both coaches all you want no debate at how much both screwed over talent. Miles was the far better CEO by a mile and it's not even close. Miles record/achievements speak for themselves even with all his flaws. Orgeron supports he got Gene Chizik lucky with Burrow/sCam Newton(Chiz) as you saw the rest of his previous career(Ole Miss) and post 2019 season. He was pushing LSU down the same road with the exact same problems he had there and behold...we ended up exactly how Ole Miss did. O meddling with assistants, out of control off the field issues, major personnel mismanagement, etc. I'm not sure we'll see a HC get fired that quick ever again after such a great season. It's pretty bad when you think about it. The difference is he had red flags that were being signaled before the 2019 season thank god we got Burrow and Brady for a perfect storm to halt it 1 season at least.

Orgeron’s recruiting misses were far more frequent than Les. Orgeron couldn’t hire a staff either which Les excelled at other than OC with Cam Cameron at the end.
The first full class Orgeron signed ended up nearly half that never played at LSU. Busts everywhere
