Does it all slope away towards a drain area/daylight?

This sounds like a 6in French drain all day and then you don’t need the exposed rock at all. Assuming you can excavate out the entire run.

The banks of the ditch areas are fairly steep...The cross section of these areas averages ~4-6' wide and ~3' deep. Natural vegetation is pretty good at the top of the bank away from the driveway, but the ditch banks themselves seem to be too steep for plants to take hold.

The ditch sections do drain to daylight pretty well (ultimately to a creek), with the exception of a few pockets where debris has built up (some of this is my fault for not doing more storm clean up over the past few months.)
