Depending how they categorized students in the medical scientist program and other dual-degree programs, that is far more reasonable. According to this link, I don't know how much of their program is double counted in the figures, as in if the students in the MSTP program are counted as part of the total medical school enrollment, as 170 per year over four years would be 680. Michigan is a large enough research university that they might count those students separately, but given their total class sizes, they might count dual-degree programs twice, once for the medical school at large and once for the specific program they are in, if that makes sense.
