How many times does rain or weather impact events held in Oregon and USA trials come down one mistake that wipes out years of training even thought you’ve already proven you are best in world
Best example is to think back to the '92 Olympic trials when Dan & Dave were all the nation could talk about.
It was ridiculously hot in NOLA for the trials & both had TERRIBLE showings, by comparison to what they had been showing in previous events.

Dave broke his foot during the trials. Dan failed on three straight pole vault attempts, dropping him from 1st place to 11th. Dave still qualified for the Olympics and won bronze. Dan won gold 4 years later. It being hot isn’t why they had off days.
