Depends on the size of the pieces, what it’s made of, whether it’s considered iron, tin, aluminum etc…. If it’s heavy iron and less than 4’ long, can get Good prices (but those types of pieces would usually be generated from some old machinery or industrial equipment). It varies depending on the material to be recycled.
For the “white goods” (fridge, washer, dryer etc), there are 2nd hand companies that will take them depending on whether or not they can be repaired and sold on the 2nd hand market. I’ve seen huge war warehouses around NOLA that have 2nd hand white goods either for sale or being repaired.
Apparently there is a decent market for this, and I’m assuming it will be even more lucrative and active in our future as the world crumbles and new materials and supplies become more scarce with time.

But hey, more power to these guys doing it, all the best to them & maybe it helps them out food on the table!
