My uncle, while in the ASAF stationed at McDilll, was hitch hiking back to Louisiana on leave on old IS 90 back in the late 60’s, was picked up by a guy in a Cadillac. The guy asked if he could drive and he said yes, so he let him drive. After about 6 hours he woke up and introduced himself as Red Adair and offered him a job when he got out of the service. I tell my kids that story, emphasizing how times have changed in such a short period of time.
