Worms will leave tell tell signs of tiny black turds on adjoining leaves. Deer will enter your garden and eat a few leaves and leave. Okra is one of their favorites. Check for deer tracks.

Deer aren't an issue in this neighborhood, though we did buy a raised bed due to the freaking rabbits.
