My response to you is basically identical to my last post, with respect to our ability to have debates across idealogical divides. The definitions of words shifting suddenly and not over decades of centuries, and with obvious political motivations and emotional impetus guiding it, has and will continue to have a profound effect on the ability of people to even converse when coming from different idealogical backgrounds.

Sudden changes in the meaning of "freedom", "liberty", and "self-determination" gave us the American Revolution. Sudden changes in the definition of "man" gave us the end of race-based slavery.
