So sorry. Hearing those words is devastating. I just went through it in April. Even if she says she’s okay, she is not okay. Give even more attention and love than you think she needs, but when she wants to be alone leave her alone. Tell her how you feel about it. She may have days in the coming weeks, months or even years where it hits her like a ton of bricks and she doesn’t want to leave the bed. Let her have those days. I never in a million years imagined mourning someone I never met would hurt so bad.
