My thermostat wire is spliced (which is what you should have done with more wire)
Before I fixed the wire with wire nuts, if I bumped it while in the attic it would burn a fuse in the unit. It was something like a 3w or 5w fuse it was on the mother board itself.
make sure you are checking the right fuse.
Also, my unit has a light that blinks with error codes (which is how I found out about this fuse). Looka dn see if your unit does as well.
