Their president wanted ONLY renewable energy and ONLY organic farming.
He set the country up for issues:
1. No fuel (cars AND cooking)
2. No food
3. The failure of their tea crop (#1 export).

Actually I am betting on the WEF and Oligarchs Unlimited pulling the strings. The President was just a minion and flunkie.
