Jacob Cutrera and Danny McCray

Watching the second half of the SC game I think that for the first time ever I was quite impressed with how Cutrera played. I am wondering if I will ever feel this way with McCray. I realize he is a young kid, trying his best, but it is no suprise to me that the defense all of a sudden looked a hell of a lot better when he was taken out of the game in the second half. The coaches were asking him to do things (like cover P. Harvin) that he was just not capable of. Maybe not his fault, but I am willing to bet that for the last two years, on third down passing situations, the opposing quaterbacks first reads are at Danny McCray. I liked seeing Peterson in the slot and feel he will just get better. Comments?

Bingo. If that's what McCray's role is on this team, then the offseason conditioning program at LSU is absolutely terrible, because McCray is way too big for that kind of stuff.

If the d-line got the same amount of pressure in the previous 3 games as they did in the 2nd half the other night, McCray wouldn't have looked so bad.
Saturday night had very little to do with McCray not being out there and a lot to do with the aggressive play calls that haven't been there all year.

I have really been impressed with Cutrera this year. And McCray had a solid game.

I think it'll be interesting next year to see if McCray will finally get to be a safety full time or if Jones or Hatcher beat him out for the starting FS spot.

Don't you love it when RANTards pretend to know what they are talking about! They make our coaching staff look bad in comparison.
