I can't seem to find any statistics on the likelihood that an early commitment ends up signing with that team.

Folks are always whining and complaining about players not honoring verbal commitments, but it seems to me like the percentages vastly favor the team with the early commitment. Perhaps over 80%?

Can anyone like some research to confirm?

Here is your research frick off

That's actually an interesting question. I'd say under the past, before NIL, the percentage was at least 80%. But I think with NIL we will lose more, maybe retaining 65% maybe 70%... We will lose some but also gain some because of the $$$ competition. I expect those that really love LSU like last year's cycle of Howard, Campbell, Jones, Wiggins, etc will stay and others such as the S from Ponchatoula will go unless we make a better deal. The question is, how much is just too much?
