He had an OPS of .716 and 57 Ks in 244 plate appearances (23.4% K rate) in 2021 under Paul. He had an OPS of .827 and 44 Ks in 267 plate appearances (16.5% K rate) this year. Only Morgan and Berry had lower K rates than Thompson did. He drew 20 walks in those plate appearances in 2021 and 35 walks this year. He had 20 XBHs this year compared to 13 last year. What exactly do you think was better about his approach at the plate his freshman year compared to this past season?

He also seemed to work all fields a little better in 2022 vs mostly pull in 2021.

I don't have numbers to back it up, but that's what it seemed like.
