What are you talking about? He was a better hitter last season. He has never been a great fielder. His fielding last season was worse than the year before.

If you don't think that completely changing your approach to half of the the game can have an affect on the other part of your game then ok I'm wrong.

You could argue though how he closed the season this year is the best fielding he's had since he got here. He had like 1 error his last 11 games, 2 his last 16 games. That's really good for a college SS.

Unfortunately he racked up like 16 errors his first 40 something games this season.

Thompson has a place here, regardless of if we take even another player in the INF in the portal or not. He saw some real improvement this season and could have a very big junior season. Maybe he wont play SS, or even 2B, but my money is still on him being a starter.
