To me, the issue isn’t necessarily the drinking by the captain, it’s the captain’s negligence in allowing a passenger, that he’s responsible for, ride standing up past the gate rail on a pontoon. That is an absolute no-no!! While the boat is under power, all asses in seats, no exceptions. It’s basic boating safety and I see less and less every year.

Good god this mentality is why there are so many boating fatalities in LA.
You are the captain of your vessel and responsible for the safety of your passengers and the safety of others around you.
It starts with not drinking. Then, it goes to managing the behavior of your passengers. That way there is no question if something were to happen.
