Advice for Visiting USC Fan

Hey Tiger fans -
I'm a SoCal native through and through. Born and raised in Los Angeles and a USC fan since forever. My usual location on Saturdays is in my seat at the LA Coliseum watching USC Trojan football. However, I am in New Orleans for business this week and decided to have the wife and kids come out and meet me so we can all go to the Georgia game this weekend. I love good college football wherever it is played, so we're looking forward to the game.
I already have game tickets and hotel reservations in Baton Rouge for Friday and Saturday night. That's all set. What I'm looking for are any tips for game day (or the day before) to maximize the fun of this trip. After years of going to SC games, I have my own game day routine down and know that there are some fun things to see and do at USC that out of towners wouldnt necessarily know about. I'd be grateful for any similar tips for game day in Baton Rouge. In return, I promise hospitality if anyone ever makes it out to the Coliseum for a USC game.
(BTW - I come in peace. I've already done the PAC 10 versus SEC flame war thing in years past. Not looking for a debate on that topic. In fact, I'll concede up front that the PAC 10 is a nancy boy conference this year and that losing to the Beavers was a frickin' joke for which there is no excuse , if that'll help keep things on topic...)
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Trojan,
Actually, you just need to show up on campus...and early. Walk around...people will be everywhere drinking and cooking, and will welcome you to try their food. (You really ought to come to a night game.....but probably hard to sort your schedule coming from LA and all.)
You can watch the band come down the hill...which is pretty cool, but basically, walk around and get drunk.

Don't miss the pregame festivities. Watch the band come down the hill (usually about an hour and a half before kickoff) and make sure you see the band's pregame show on the field. Other than that, have a blast tailgating!

I think the overwhelming favorite for lunch would either be The Chimes (personal fav) or TJ Ribs. Get there by 11 (at the doors) so you can get a good seat and want have to wait to long.
You are hitting the weather perfect btw.

Great post. I got chills b/c you don't even know what you are in for. Get to campus very early. People will start tailgating Friday so you can't be too early on gameday. Walk around and grab some food. Tailgaters should be hospitable (maybe watch the USC clothes). Try to see the band come down the hill by the stadium about 1:15 and make sure you are in the stadium about 30 minutes before kick to see the pregame. The atmosphere should be electric, even for a 2:30 game. Mike 6 our live mascot has a cage by the stadium. He'll be there in the morning, and the kids should enjoy that. Hope you have a great trip. By the way, beat the damn Irish by 30.

There is a rumor that one tailgater has a stripper pole set up...may want to check that out.

You should check out the TigerDroppings tailgate party on the Parade Grounds, in front of the Student Union. Most Rantards are peaceful fans. And the ones that are A-holes are wormy little nerds who couldn't kick your wife's arse if you tied her hands behind her back.
