Has anyone ever actually done this?
Yes. Before abortion was legal women inserted a coat hanger to scratch the inside of the uterus and cause bleeding. They would then go to a hospital, claim to be having a miscarriage, and get a D&C which removed the fetus. The hospital was covered legally because the patient came in bleeding. Unfortunately most women did not know how small the uterus is and accidentally perforated it.
