I have never 'chastised' anyone for making the call to pull the plug on a loved one, much less questioned their motives.
I made the call to resuscitate my father in the middle of the night during his last hospital stay. I came to regret that decision after seeing what hell my step mother went through over the course of the following 6 weeks - which were to be his last. Even knowing that I couldn't make the call any differently, I still regretted doing it. Sometimes it takes courage to make the call to let them go. And like I recently told my mom, I don't have that kind of courage, and if she wants someone to pull her plug, she'll have to ask someone else.
Luckily, she gave me power of attorney over her finances, so I cannot make the call to pull the plug due to a conflict of interest now.

Of course not. Shitheads who do if for convenience aren't pulling plugs on "loved ones."
Egocentric people don't think of others often, except when they get in the way.
