I’m not sitting through 11 pages of posts, but unfortunately, it isn’t a black and white issue.

While I agree with the OP that many, many people don’t want the inconvenience of a baby, healthy or not, issues of rape and, a smaller minority, incest (predominantly in the state of Alabama), do happen. There are also instances of extreme risk to the mother.

There is no way to govern that though. How can we truthfully discern whether the woman was truly raped or not? They can easily just lie, like “Jane Roe” did by claiming she was raped by a group of black men.

I’m never a fan of absolutes and there should be carve outs - pun not intended. Unfortunately, most women will just “claim” they were raped, etc. to take advantage of that carve out.

It is what it is.

ETA: Can’t we get women on some contraceptives, birth control, the fricking Plan-B pill? There are so many steps that can easily be taken to prevent this.

Won't matter in some states, like Louisiana.

On Tuesday, Gov. John Bel Edwards signed Senate Bill 342 into law, which updated the law to include exceptions for medically futile and ectopic pregnancies. No exceptions for victims of rape or incest are included. The new bill also stiffens the criminal penalties for abortion providers already outlined in state law, doubling the maximum sentences to 10 and 15 years, depending on when an abortion is performed during a pregnancy.

Some states are considering restricting the Plan B pill.

Some states, such as Idaho and Louisiana, have already discussed possible future restrictions on morning-after pills and even IUDs.

I keep seeing these brought up but people that bring all these up never bring up how insanely rare those reasons are for the abortion.

I agreed with other points of your post, though.
