Even if what you said had any resemblance of truth...
How do you know what your max rep is so you can do your percentage weight lifts (believe there is a more technical term) without actually doing a max rep every now and then?
Back when we would lift for football, we would always have max out days (don't recall how often as it was 25+ years ago), and would reset our lifting schedules for the 10 * 75%, 8 * 80%... Then you incrementally increase the weights until you next max day
