For most people that only fly a handful of times per year, this is irrelevant. Toledo is less than an hour from Detroit's main airport. Islip is less than an hour from JFK and LaGuardia, and Ithaca is just over an hour to Syracuse.

If someone is flying multiple times per month for work this might matter, but generally no.
