Is it common that foreign owned companies (oil gas industry) don’t allow families to enroll in company health insurance benefits?
Like employee only.

Had someone tell me this earlier this morning and I just don’t believe it.
Maybe it’s true.

Where are you going?

Many countries offer temporary insurance policies that allow you to use their systems.

Unless you are going to a third world country, every industrialized country you go to will have some form of Universal Healthcare. They will almost all be a little different from one another and have different ways they are accessed. A few are employer based, or have employer components like supplemental policies, but many are not directly tied to your company.

I’m in Saudi with Aramco and my family was covered on my company insurance while they lived here and when they didn’t (high school, college).

I don’t think you understand.

This girl told me they wouldn’t let her brother add his kids to his company provided health insurance plan. … I know her brother personally too.

He said Only person he could add was himself.

I think he’s full of shite and doesn’t want to bc of his martial/kid situation.

It all boils down to risk and what you negotiate. Long term health problems do not support that work environment . Short term health issues , pharmacy health care providers do the bulk of the work just fine, for free.

Be careful, your home based company can get you screwed up. I had a fellow accidentally off the job site, cut off the top section of his thumb. Three days later he was still carrying his thumb in a paper bag, whilst they debated sending him home, repair/replace locally. Thumb healed, a little shorter!!
