This season? You can't be serious. It was bar far the worst season and the last episode was about as bad as it gets. I can't even imagine a worse ending.
I'm absolutely serious. The finale was great. I'm looking forward to the movie that continues the storyline.

The story went absolutely nowhere
Umm, sure it did. Major characters in the family died. Tommy almost dies himself. We also now have Tommy in direct conflict (openly) with Moseley and the mobster from Boston.

You knew Michael was going to die.
Well, yeah. But they've been laying that storyline down for awhile. This wasn't some new revelation that Michael would try to make a move and pay dearly for it.

Arthur was a bumbling idiot the whole season.
An opium addict finally hits rock bottom in his addiction? Color me shocked. I don't know why people are shocked by Arthur's decline given how hard he's been living life in the last few seasons.

His kid dies, his wife leaves him, he sends off his other kid and just doesn't care about any of it. He decides he's going to go off and die on his own so he has a family meal, Arthur doesn't even show up Finn either. He cared more about his random adopted kid than any other family. And the big reveal? He's not sick! What does he do? Go scare the doctor, woo hoo!
It was a great reveal. And no, I'm not shocked that Tommy tries to take the high road of making sure his family is financially secure and not wanting any of them watch him suffer a nasty death. That's really very in line with his character.

But I'm not making any excuses for a horrible ending.
It's not a horrible ending.

I'm not going to be impressed because something is predictable. Killing Michael was a great scene, I've been waiting for that for a while. But Michael's character this season was pretty irrelevant. Arthur, while predictable, was also boring. An addict hitting rock bottom can be an intriguing story. They just avoided doing anything with it other than making him look stupid. One of the most intriguing characters for five seasons basically becomes an irrelevant background character in the final season and nothing in the final episode. Come on.

You have watched too much TV to think this was a good reveal

And again, the Mosley's/Nelson/German/Nazi/Hitler/Roosevelt story that was the main focus for the entire season just faded into nothing.
