It was just the single speaker combo amp. Sounded great. The guy in the store basically had to come up and make me stop being a puss and turn it up and make adjustments with volume vs. master volume. To make it louder and break up without making it unbearable in the shop.

Famous last words but it is all I will ever really need. Never a need I can foresee to be louder. Now to just find one at my price point.

thats part of the fun though

Especially if they know you're about to buy it. Then they have to put up with your shite.

Do you have a go to ?

I would call myself a early intermediate level.

You may be able to wail on anything. Do you go for annoying with Smoke on the Water or a Blizzard of notes or grab a guitar with a Floyd Rose and just dive bomb a bunch of nonsense? Lol

Good to hear. All of the Classics and Delta Blues are similar circuits, just different wattages and speaker configs. You'll find something in your price range and size range soon enough.

Had a local guy here in Katy. 400 bucks for the 4x10 50 watt combo. He listed 400 so I could have tried to haggle. Just decided it was ridiculous. 4 speakers and 50 watts of tube in a bedroom. It would have to live at “1” with the wife giving me side-eye at 1.5 and cops knocking at a 2 or 3.

The hunt continues. Which is half as fun as playing the damn thing to me.

I've been playing a Classic 30 for over 10 years. Such an awesome amp for the size and price.

Is Peavey still based in Meridian?

Believe so. Still says it on the back. Of course I don’t if I’m looking at old or fairly new amps.

I used to gig the Classic 30 amp head through a 12 and I thought it was a great clean amp that took pedals well.

Fret, while on the subject of Peavey, how expensive is it to replace the phase switch on a T-60?

Peavey is still based in Meridian but very little is made there anymore.

The phase switch is likely a two-way DPDT switch with a few wires soldered to it. You will pay $10 for the switch on Amazon.

I like to start off with a little Goatwhore, then move into Watain or Dissection, finish it up with a little Beherit and Marduk.

And if anyone recognizes anything, they're usually cool.

No, I hate FR. Mainly because I'm no good at it.
