Actually, most insurances are required by US Govt to reimburse fully for these tests. I have used the eMed tests also, which work well and are very convenient, and have been reimbursed fully by my health insurer for the full cost including shipping and tax.

I used the Emed test twice last year and worked well. Make sure to bring a spare test though. On my second trip last year one of my test kits was defective and produced an "inconclusive" result. Luckily I had an extra kit and that one worked.
