Insofar as we're not heavily engaged with any weapon system, currently, this is a pointless statement, IMHO.

You are correct that this impression is mistaken. Reasonably active in Libya and Syria (when those theaters were hot), heavily active in Afghanistan from 2012 onward, IIRC.
(ETA: They had a more passive, overwatch role in Iraq.)
Also ETA: This is a B2 thread, but my posts are answering UB's questions about the B1.
