All I’m asking is how to resolve the logical inconsistency of why the federal cops were the ones, who despite still waiting to enter the school themselves, were the ones who answered a call for assistance from 60 miles away, while the local cops kept waiting even while being on scene the entire time...if this was a plot by the Feds all along?

I’m just asking for a thoughtful response to this question. If there is one, I’d appreciate it.

Edit: I have the same question about the X-Files and why the Syndicate has such a hard time firing Mulder when they are supposed to control the entire Federal apparatus.

a federal agency has to be "asked" to assist the local yokels, common sense does not factor in here, let's say the feds intervened and put an immediate stop to the situation without the local's permission, they would face pretty harsh discipline, possible termination, whoever their boss is would certainly be demoted/canned

Did the border patrol agent have a child in the school? Did his wife send a text asking for help? If those reports are true then the fed didn't respond as a Fed, but as a father.
