I remember that feature. What was the utility? Not using up your minutes just to talk to someone within line-of-sight distance?

Line of site of a tower not different than cellular. We used them in group mode often via Nextel.

NEXTEL 2-way would reach/talk to the extent of their svc area. Very cool and handy.

Ah, Nextel push-to-talk. It's how you let everyone know you are subcontractor living off your dad.
