Other moons are around gas giants. They are warped by immense gravity. Earth's gravity is much, much weaker.

It wasn't always like that and it won't always be like that. There is only a relatively brief period of time where we will have this kind of synchronous orbit. A synchronous orbit is incredibly valuable for the evolution of life.
