5 kids contracting an extremely rare infection and the only link is they have formula originating from a common product from a common plant. Powder formula is tested, but no way it can be guaranteed.
Take the politics of the FDA and such out and that is pretty glaring coincidence.
No clue if the plant is responsible, hell, might be common dog food amoung all the households.

Cronobacter is a bacteria commonly found all over. It’s generally harmless, but can be lethal to infants. It also thrives in very dry environments like dry infant formula powder.
The four cases the CDC investigated were not linked, and none could be traced back to the factory. Genetic testing of the four Cronobacter bacteria samples revealed four different bacteria origins. No Cronobacter has been found in unopened Abbott products.
There was a single Salmonella case that was added to the Cronobacter investigation. That addition inflamed headlines, but had nothing to do with the original investigation.
The Cronobacter investigation and findings are not a secret. The CDC has published their findings. It doesn’t take a genius to conclude the powdered formula was contaminated at home, or nursery, or daycare, or wherever the formula was being used. Also, it was most likely not properly reconstituted and prepared by the caregiver.
