Frenchman’s Bend or Black Bear?

I’ll be in the Mississippi/ North LA area next week and have an afternoon free. Which course should I play - I’ve played both before. Really trying to find out which is in the best shape right now.

Not sure if it's true or not, but I heard that the greens at Frenchman's aren't great right now because they sprayed the wrong stuff on them. I'm not a member there, so if anyone is or has played recently, correct me please.

Haven't played Frenchman's but played Black Bear last week and it is in great shape.

Hell yeah. The one time I played it, the greens had just been punched and they were working on 3-4 more that were actually closed.
It’s a great track & layout. Looking forward to being out there in that afternoon setting in beautiful nature by myself.
ETA: Hopefully I don’t get mauled by a black bear. Saw one walking down the cart path on 18 as we were finishing out.

Played Frenchmen's weekend before last. Can't believe anyone would pay to be a member there. Worst conditioned golf course I've ever played.
