If he hadn’t entered the portal yet, supposedly the case according to other posters, then Saban talking to him (recruiting him) is a rules violation.
The system is not setup to be 24/7 recruiting of other teams players. If they enter the portal, signaling an intent to leave current program, then they are fair game for recruiting
