If you are looking at stats of just what he has done in his career so far then maybe. This post is basically for what you project Crews to do by the end of next season though. There is nothing that suggest Crews would have any fall off of production next season based off what he has done this season and last season. With that said, I don't think it is premature at all to put him above most former LSU players.
The amount of consistent exit velocity balls over 100 hit by Crews is ridiculous. Seems like every game LSU data shows at least 2 and sometimes 3 hits by Crews with over 100 exit velocity.

I will compare Crews when his LSU career is finished. Walker and Aaron Hill are both All-Americans several times over and if you doubted their LSU careers just look at where they were drafted and the longevity of their MLB careers.
What about Albert Belle? What about Pitchers such Springer, McDonald, Nola, Louis Coleman?
There has simply been far too much talent at LSU over the last 30-35 years to talk about a guy with 1 1/2 years left in his college career. Give him time.
