Disagree with your first comment. I had a buddy who was a walk on for the football team who explicitly told me that an unnamed starter circa 2016(who was not good) was gifted a house at U Club during his time there as well as a debit card that never dropped below 5 figures.

but some players are now getting (literally) millions in cash. That level of payment didn't happen prior to NIL.

You remember the big Cam Newton thing? What was it 300k to his father's church or something like that? Those numbers don't even compare to now.
