yep, just one more reason Louisiana sucks and will never climb out of the sewer. Even when it makes perfectly good sense to do something, the local legislator with his hand out will frick over the citizens.

I voted for Joe Orgeron in the last election as Jerry Giscliar was termed out because he was a conservative.
In addition to his sponsored menhaden legislation, he also introduced legislation to facilitate offshore wind / solar power legislation while owning a company related to such.
This may be an ethics violation.
